Anaco were awarded a £550k contract from the main contractor Vinci (Norwest Holst) to manufacture and install the curtain walling and windows at the new Christie Radiotherapy Centre at Royal Oldham Hospital.
This is the first of a network of new centres that are planned to be built, which will enable local patients to access first class expert radiotherapy treatment much closer to home.
The new £17 million centre that will open for patients in 2010 will have two £1.3 million radiotherapy machines and other high-tech equipment which will allow doctors and specialist radiographers to treat approximately seventy patients a day.
Working proactively with the main contractor Anaco’s installation at the new centre is well underway, and expects to be completed on site in September this year.
